Intramural Athletics
At the United States Air Force Academy, every cadet is an athlete. The intramural program not only provides cadets with an enjoyable way to exercise, it’s one of the best leadership opportunities the Academy has to offer. It is mandatory for all members of the cadet wing to either participate in the intramural program or compete at the intercollegiate level.
Intramural athletes practice or compete in a variety of sports at least twice a week during each season of competition. Over 3,000 cadets participate each season, holding nearly 90 contests each afternoon. The intramural program generates nearly 1,000 leadership opportunities for cadets each year, including coaching, officiating and administrative duties.
