Being a Cadet is hard work. But we also realize the importance
of activities that provide Cadets with leisure and the opportunity
to forge friendships that will last a lifetime. The Academy also
offers several clubs you can participate in. Learn more about these
opportunities by using the links on the right. You’ll soon
learn that recreation possibilities, both at and away from the Academy,
are limited only by the time you have to participate.
Formal and informal social activities are held in Arnold Hall,
the Academy's student union complex. There you may also buy pizza
or other snacks, enjoy dancing, television, games, movies and live
performances by popular entertainers
You can enjoy sports, games, fishing, picnics and dances at the
Academy's outdoor recreational areas. Lawrence Paul Pavilion is
a short hike into the foothills on the Academy's campus and Farish
Memorial Recreational Area is just a short drive away.
During the year you'll wear the formal cadet uniform and attend
a military reception and ball. Attendance at these functions will
prepare you for social situations in the Air Force.
Serving the community is an integral part of life at the Air Force
Academy. Volunteer community service allows cadets to become involved
with the local community, helping cadets come to understand the
Academy’s core value of "service before self."
