DATES, COSTS, AND SELECTION
  • Session “A” – June 08 - 13, 2008
  • Session “B” – June 15 - 20, 2008

You are responsible for arranging your own transportation to and from Colorado Springs, CO. Most students fly commercial, but the student may drive him/herself, or be brought to the USAF Academy by parent(s) or other responsible individual(s).

Sunday and Friday are travel days. Briefings start at approximately 6:00 PM on Sunday evening so travel should be scheduled to arrive at the Colorado Springs Airport by 4:00 PM. On Friday there is no formal program and travel should be scheduled to depart the Colorado Springs Airport by 12:00 noon. Transportation is provided from the Colorado Springs Airport and return to the airport by the Academy. No transportation is provided from the Denver Airport.

The registration fee is $350.00. This fee pays for your room and all meals, as well as workshop supplies. Also included are seminar wear and accessories such as T-shirts, shorts, jacket, cap, water bottle, gym bag, and more.

A second semester sophomore or first semester junior cumulative GPA (on an unweighted 4.0 scale) is required. Also, one or more of the following tests is required. The following scores are recommended to be competitive: PSAT (Verbal 53/Math-52)/ PLAN (23 Composite)/SAT (Verbal-530/Math-520)/ACT-English-23/Math-23/Reading-23/Science Reasoning-23).

Students are evaluated and selected on a “whole person concept;” academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities. Selection for the program is highly competitive. Only 760 students (380 per session) will be offered a slot in this program.

Non-selection does not mean you will not be qualified for the Academy. On the other hand, while looked upon very favorably, selection does not ensure an appointment to the Academy.
